Bigger and Perkier

Breast augmentation can enhance your breast size and shape and give you the more proportional figure you always wanted. At Ace Plastic Surgery in Mombasa, Kenya our board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Peter Biribwa Kansiime specializes in breast augmentation with the latest generation medical grade silicone and saline implants.

Many women choose to have their breasts enlarged in order to satisfy their own desire for a fuller bust line. Your breasts may not have developed to the size that meets your expectations or one breast may be significantly smaller than the other. You may have been happy with your breasts in the past but feel they look different now. Often, after weight loss, childbirth, or as a result of aging, the breasts lose volume and their shape changes.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation will help you attain a fuller breast size and more pleasing breast shape. It can be used to improve unevenness, and also provide a small amount of lift.

Breast implant surgery is accomplished by placing a breast implant underneath the soft tissues of the chest (most commonly under the muscle). The implant may either be filled with silicone or saline. Alternatively, some patients may also opt to undergo breast augmentation by transferring their own adipose tissue (fat) from one or more areas of the body. This method is appealing to patients who would prefer not to utilize implants for augmentation but it has limitations when compared with using implants, and may not be suitable for all patients.

Currently, the vast majority of patients undergo breast augmentation using implants .

Below, we’ve included some of the advantages we’ve seen firsthand.

ADDED VOLUME AND CURVES

Some women are born with breasts that are naturally small and flat and don’t provide their desired curves to their physique. Because breast implants especially add volume to the top of the breasts, breast augmentation is a perfect way to add volume and curves to your silhouette, making you feel more voluptuous and feminine.

RESTORE BREASTS AFTER PREGNANCY AND AGING

We all know that pregnancy can take a toll on a mother’s body, especially her breasts. Mothers often end up with breasts that are sagging and have decreased volume, particularly if they breastfed their babies. Breast augmentation is a fantastic way to restore lost volume to breasts and make them appear more youthful and perkier.

EVEN OUT ASYMMETRICAL BREASTS

All women have some degree of breast asymmetry. But for some women, the differences in their breast sizes are so noticeable that it makes shopping for bras and bathing suits difficult, and the differences can be embarrassingly noticeable in clothing. Breast augmentation is a great way to balance out naturally uneven breasts.

INCREASE SELF-CONFIDENCE

Women who are unhappy with the natural appearance of their breasts, their current look can make them feel inferior and lack confidence. A breast augmentation can be a confidence booster, making women feel more comfortable in their bodies.

ACE BREAST AUGMENTATION

Breasts that are small or uneven can affect your confidence and cause you to feel unhappy with your figure.

Every woman wants beautiful, feminine breasts, but things like pregnancy, weight changes, genetics, and age can get in the way. At Ace Plastic Surgery, we can help you choose the breast augmentation option to help you feel confident, empowered, and beautiful. We’ll make sure you are completely comfortable-from start to finish-before, during, and after your procedure.

Breast augmentation is a safe and popular solution. It can be customized to achieve incredibly natural-looking results.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation surgery is a common cosmetic surgery that increases the size and modifies the shape of breasts by implanting silicone, saline or fat. Breasts are larger, rounder and often firmer after this surgery. This type of surgery only increases the size of breasts. It does not lift breasts, nor will it correct breasts that are not even in size or shape (asymmetrical breasts). However, it is possible to combine breast lift or breast revision surgery with breast augmentation surgery and Dr. Peter will discuss all options with you during your initial consultation.

What Can I Expect During A Consultation?

Your initial consultation appointment at Ace Plastic Surgery will help you understand all your options and determine if breast augmentation is right for you. Dr. Peter Kansiime will meet with you to discuss your goals and recommend a treatment plan that can give you the results you want. If you would like to correct breast sagging or drooping or if you have a loss of skin laxity, we may recommend breast lift surgery with implants to increase breast volume while also restoring perkiness. If you are concerned with excess fat around the bra line, we may recommend combining liposuction with your breast augmentation.

What Breast Augmentation Surgery Can Achieve

Breast Implant Choices

For today’s breast augmentation patient, we use the latest Generation both saline- and silicone-filled breast implants in a variety of shapes, sizes, and profiles, with either smooth or textured shells. Your body and your preferences will determine what makes certain implants a better choice for you. Dr. Peter takes these considerations into account and will help you pick the right implant type for your frame, your lifestyle, and your goals.

Breast Augmentation Procedure

Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia. First, the chosen incision is made, and a pocket is created in the breast tissue. Then, the implant is carefully placed either on top of the chest muscle or underneath it. If you opt for saline implants, these can be placed through a smaller incision and then filled with saline solution after they’ve been placed. In the case of silicone implants, these are pre-filled and placed as a whole. The incision length for silicone implants may also be reduced if an implant funnel is used for insertion. Once the implants are in place, your incisions are closed and made ready for recovery.

Are You a Good Candidate?

If you wonder if you are a good candidate for breast augmentation there are many conditions which may indicate that you are. Most commonly, if you are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small or that clothing fits well around your hips but is often too large in the bust line this procedure may be appropriate for you. You may feel self-conscious wearing a swimsuit, a form fitted top, or feel that your breasts have become smaller and lost their firmness after having children. Weight loss often changes the size and shape of the breast and asymmetries may become more apparent.

All breast augmentation candidates should be healthy non-smokers with realistic expectations for their procedure.

How to Prepare for Breast Augmentation

In preparing for surgery, you may be asked to:

  • Maintain healthy lifestyle habits. Avoid smoking for 4 weeks before surgery. If you smoke within that timeframe, your surgery will be rescheduled.
  • Wear comfortable clothing on the day of your surgery, like a loose fitting top and bottoms with an elasticized waist.
  • You may need to avoid food and drink on the night before your surgery.

What Can I Expect in My Breast Augmentation Recovery?

You’ll receive detailed instructions to follow to make sure that your recovery is smooth and successful. Since your surgery will be performed under general anesthesia, you’ll need to arrange for someone to take you home and stay with you for 24 hours. You can expect about one to two weeks of recovery. You’ll be given prescription medications to fill so you can manage swelling and discomfort, the worst of which is usually over the first few days of recovery. You should plan on wearing a surgical bra for around 6 weeks after surgery to support your new implants, but you can return to work or school within one week or so. You’ll return for follow-up appointments to check your progress and ask any questions you may have. You’ll also receive Dr. Peter’s contact information for any questions you have at home..

Breast Augmentation With Lift

Breast Augmentation Surgery is commonly combined with a breast lift for those who have lost volume and shape in their breast. Sub-glandular or sub-pectoral breast augmentation with silicone breast implants combined with a breast lift.

What Will My Breast Augmentation Scars Look Like?

As with any surgical procedure, there will be some residual scarring from your Breast Augmentation. However, our plastic surgeons take every precaution to keep incision lines as concealed as possible. Concerns about scarring are always expressed before surgery, and we understand. We are committed to minimize the amount of scarring. Scar treatments with our advanced scar treatments can be performed, starting shortly after your surgery. With your treatments, your scars will become less and less noticeable, as you want them to be.

How Long Will the Results of My Breast Augmentation?

The final results of breast augmentation will be apparent within several months following your surgery. The most important thing you’ll notice is that breast augmentation will make your breasts look fuller and enhance their shape. You will find it easier to wear certain styles of clothing and like many women who have had breast augmentation, it may boost your self-confidence. These results are expected to be long-lasting, but with the exception of age-related changes in the breast causing some drooping, which may lead to additional surgery in the future.

What Risks Are Associated with Breast Augmentation?

Though uncommon, complications can occur with any surgery, including anesthesia-related risks and infection. Breast augmentation can lead to bleeding, bruising, and/or swelling. In rare cases, a condition called capsular contracture can occur. This condition is an immune system reaction to the implants, which causes excessive scarring around the implants. Dr. Peter Biribwa Kansiime will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your health and well-being following your surgery. Breast augmentation patients should continue scheduling regular mammograms.
